US President Donald Trump announced early on Friday that he and his wife have both tested positive for COVID-19. This occurrence happens months into the global pandemic and in the midst of his campaign for reelection.
The US President was last viewed in public on Thursday as he returned to the White House from a New Jersey fundraising trip.
The announcement follows the positive test of Hope Hicks on Thursday who is one of Trump’s most senior advisers.
In the event that Trump becomes too sick to lead the nation then Vice President Mike Pence will be in charge. And where Pence is also incapacitated, the task of being in charge will most likely fall to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
In response to the announcement, Global Markets fell and futures tracking suggest that the US Markets shall open lower.
